Today is my 5 year AAnniversary. 5 years ago last night, I had had 6 1/2 years sober, but at that time, my dreams of moving from LA to NY and Broadway, which were in the works and then fell apart, were dead. So I got drunk, drove drunk, and could have killed myself. I actually wanted to die that night.
But...I didn't and I came right back the next day.
And...5 years later last night I was standing in the Center in NY with a cast of people I have come to love and care about, and talking to Saul about how far HE has come, I realized that I am indeed living my dream. It just took 5 years.
I am grateful for all my sobriety and for all the creativity I see around me.
Keep living your dreams.
They do come true, they just might now look the way you envisioned them.
*************
Sobriety is a personal thing, and I speak only for myself and nobody else. I post on my blog about myself. To share with friends.
Tomorrow night I will sing "At the Ballet" (rewritten) and get to sing the high note! It's not Broadway, but it's a dream come true!
AND, I get to dance, so there ya are!!!
