Beth Harkins and Tim Curry

I took this pic of Beth and Tim as he exited the stage door for AMADEUS in DC. I was nervous and had stuff tucked under my arm (should have put it down) and...well, blurry. Sorry Beth!
Still, it was a thrill. Beth and I were the only ones waiting too! Ironically a stage version of ROCKY HORROR was playing at the same time, so all the RHers must have been over there.
Tim was GREAT in AMADEUS!! As was Jane Seymour!!
Now, where or where is Beth???

Another New Roommate

Well, this Friday my roommate Joey C is moving out to move in with his bf, Pman! It's been a good run, but now they are ready to live together! I lose roommates to either boyfriends or new jobs! Ah well that is life.
So, enter Christopher! A nice guy from Wisconsin, by way of San Diego. He just turned 36 and works a mere 3 minutes away from the apt so lucky him, he can walk to work and come home at lunch!
He's a great guy so hopefully we can have some dinner parties and maybe even a game night or two!
A new adventure for Joey and Pman and a new one for Christopher, and me!

Message from Thom Bierdz

Hello. It's Thom Bierdz touching base. I hope all is well with you. Things are great here. I love painting the portraits I have been doing. Please see my three latest portraits attached. I am very proud of these.

One is of five little dogs in a Tuscany background. One is of a man with his three dogs. The portrait of the two people in a very loving moment is of Dave and Shirly Hope who live in British Columbia. Dave has cancer. It is a very serious situation and tonight at 7 PM PST I will do a post on face book (Thom Bierdz) and invite people to envision Dave receiving white light to heal his cancer. I am hoping that if hundreds of us send Dave energy together it may benefit his health.

Randy Springs commissioned this portrait. Randy is a Y&R fan in Ontario who had previously commissioned me to paint his dog and also his cabin. Last week he asked me to paint his sister and her husband (Shirly and Dave Hope) and he emailed me one photo. He totally let me do any background I wanted. As I got to the right side, I painted an envelope, which I intended to be a metaphor for unending communication, should Dave die, as his doctor predicts. On the right side of the painting I added a vase and painted roses. I figured since I had used a lot of pinks, I would do red roses. I did enough to fill the space. It was 5 roses. Randy and Shirly were stunned at the addition of the five red roses. What I thought was merely a sweet background was a psychic happening. It turns out that because Dave married Shirly on the 5th of the month, every month since their wedding he has given her five red roses. Wow. Psychic stuff like that happens a lot when I paint. Randy said the vase also looks like a real vase Shirly has! And when I closed my computer that night, the painting popped up as my screensaver! I don't know how that happened!

Remembering James Wesley & Yvonne Eileen

The Marker for Dad says "Interred at Arlington Cemetary".
Today once again marks the annivesary of the burials of both my parents, 33 years apart.
We buried Mom in Claflin, Kansas April 15th, 1971.
Dad was buried in Arlington Cemetary April 15th, 2004.

Yes, I planned it that way. When it came time to decide when to bury Dad, I chose that date. We needed time to let everyone from Kansas make plans to go to VA, plus I wanted it to be nicer for the ceremony. We had Dad's funeral at Augusta, KS in November, then had him cremated and Randy brought the ashes back to VA for safekeeping till April. It just made more sense and though my sister Sonya was upset that we had him cremated, it was the best decision at the time. I found out my good friend Donna Lillard Migliaccio did the same for her father, who is actually buried not far from my father. I am forever grateful to her, Tim Moody, Sharon Golden and Judy Fair Lewis for coming to my father's ceremony. That meant so much!!!

Missing Mom and Dad!! Always!!

My favorite photo of them, taken from the home movies we have that I had put on video, then DVD.

Hey... this TALKENOMICS is a real must watch. Regina Brett is a recovering alcoholic, unwed single mother, lapsed devout catholic and cancer survivor. Her first book went on sale today. Please share this link with anyone you know who may be battling cancer, raising a kid, struggling with addiction. My favorite clips are... CHEMOTHERAPY OR VOLLEYBALL and CANCER WAS A DETOUR.

Happy Easter!

A good day! Went to church at Marble Collegiate. Went to the 9AM service. Beautiful.
Then back to spend time dog sitting with Beau.
I met Rich for lunch then we went to see the play "Mr and Mrs Fitch". Good, biting and funny! John Lithgow is such a wonderful actor!
Afterwards we went to the Little Pie Company and Rich bought us each a small Strawberry Rhubarb pie..remembering Aunt Dorothy, Tom, Claflin and Mom!
Afterwards I went back to play with Beau till David and Terry got back.
Saturday night I went to see "Yank" with Tom Yankowski! It was a wonderful show. They are moving it to Broadway next year and I hope they keep it exactly like it is! Bobby Steggert was amazing. The whole cast was and especially Nancy Anderson!
Eric is doing better. Still weak, still in pain but getting stronger every day. I talked with him briefly last night. Hopefully I'll get to visit him soon.
Also looks like I have a new roommate AND a dog! So we shall see!
A new Spring and new Hope!
Thank you God! He is Alive!
