Later in the Day After the Storm

I went out walking later in the day yesterday afternoon.
It was still windy but the sky was clearing and the sunset was so amazing!! Waves were choppy but only splashing over not rolling over.
An example of God, Nature, Power and Beauty all combined.
Most of these were taken down by the Southstreet Seaport and Battery Park.

Sunday After the Storm

I took these this morning about 11:30. Breezy but just some sprinkles and no damage, thankfully!
Thankfully the storm passed and no damage. We didn't lose power and in my neighborhood no damage. The outlaying areas and beaches hit hardest.
Thankfully the city took precautions.
Grateful and glad to God that he took care of us!!

Earthquakes and Hurricanes

I took these photos last night as I walked down along Battery Park City. All was calm and balmy. That's Anderson Cooper preparing to broadcast down at Battery Park with the Statue of Liberty in the background.





Well, the east coast had an earthquake this week and now we are gearing up for a hurricane!! Mother Nature is pissed.
I didn't feel the earthquake at work but many did. Now with Hurricane Irene barreling up the coast I'm hunkering down.
I sorta joked that I survived 17 years in LA with riots, floods, drought, earthquakes, El Nino, mudslides...but for most of those I was prepared or spared.
I lived in the east coast for most of my life and survived hurricanes and floods.
In Kansas we survived tornados.
Dust storms in VA back in the 60's.
I believe God will protect me, as long as I do my part and don't do anything foolish.
Today...I will hunker down, do the best I can.
And...trust!

Remembering Terry Brenneis

Yesterday amidst all the "excitement" of the earthquake that rattled the east coast and fears about the approaching hurrican Irene, I took time to remember that yesterday was one year of living without my friend Terry Brenneis.
It sometimes seems that time stands still, then all of a sudden, it's a year later.
I think of Terry often, especially every Sunday in church.
He is missed but he is never far from our hearts and thoughts.
I just spent time dogsitting for David with Beau. I thought of Terry daily and even prayed aloud for his help with Beau.
I can't say I felt his presence, but I did hold him in my thoughts and heart.
You are missed Terry and never forgotten.

Birthdays are Always Birthdays - Happy Birthday Kevin McCann

Though he has physically passed from this world, Kevin McCann is ALWAYS part of the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him. Brady Bunch Tony and San Francisco Joe are but just two!
How I wish I could email or call and hear his laugh. His joy of life, his true, pure love for Joe.
Thinking of you today Kevin and wishing you a day spent celebrating YOU!
In my mind's eye, you and I are at Apache listening to old disco and Laughing!!! And loving life!!!

Dogsitting Feeding Cats Dinner with Eric Sunrise

Went to Vynil for dinner Monday night with my friend Eric. Fun!

Remembering Emma Cain

Today would be/is my Godmother Aunt Emma Cain's birthday. I miss her and remember her. Today is her day. I will take time all day to remember her.
She gave me candy dish which I still have. I will always remember her!!!
Love you Aunt Emma!!!
She was born August 14, 1894!!

23 years ago today Dad married Dolores Bieberle in Hoisington, Kansas.
I so wish I had been there. But thank God for photos.
Miss Dad a lot today. Thankfully just spoke to Dolores a couple of days ago and she's going strong. Thanks to God!

Dog Sitting with Beau

I am staying with Beau while Daddy D is away enjoying a well deserved vacay!!!
