The Tax Man Cometh

My cubicle at work

Or rather, I have to go see my tax man today. He does a great job, but I always apprehensive. Mainly due to the time I went to get my taxes done and she told me, you can't claim being an actor because you haven't made any money as an actor.
Ah well, that was then, this is now.
I note I have been blogging now for 6 years.
I'm still working at my job. Doing some performing but not on Broadway, yet.
Still alive and healthy and grateful.
Status quo as Dad would have said.
Doing a take off on FOLLIES in May. I sing BROADWAY BABY! Well with rewritten lyrics. An homage, not making fun.
Hopefully...
My friend Rich Sienko was here for a week seeing shows and enjoying some down time.
We went to see CARRIE, the Musical, off Broadway. It was very good! Some friends were there as well so that made it nice. We had front row seats courtesy of Rich.
No one is alone!

Shine On Us - Christian Music CLICK HERE

I sang lead on this song and put togther this music video.
I have always loved this type of Christian music.
At one point I wanted to be the first openly gay male Christian singer. Others have now joined that road.
I would like to just sing and use the gift God gave me. I love singing.
I love God and I love making people happy.
Hopefully this song brings joy to you.

Thank you for listening.

Lunchbreak on a Thursday

It's beautiful today in New York City. My computer says 74 degrees right now. Sunny and clear. Thankful and grateful!
I went for a walk at lunchtime and took a few photos. Park between 47th and 48th, then down 48th to Lexington and back to my office. I stood outside for a few looking up at the Chrysler Building and getting some Vitamin D!!

Yesterday

Yesterday afternoon I went for my "usual" walk down to Battery Park, around Battery Park City along the Hudson, up to Tribeca, then down and around back through City Hall Park and then home. A bit chilly on one side, but then warm and sunny on the other. Spring is springing!

Thinking of Dorothy 3/12/2007

Missing Dorothy Tritsch. It's been 5 years since my "Aunt" Dorothy passed. I miss her. I miss calling her. I miss singing hymns with her.
She's in my heart and shes with me every time I go to church.
Forever loved Dorothy!!
I love and miss you!!
Norman, please give her a hug for me.

Walk to the Southstreet Seaport

Last night after work I walked down to the Southstreet Seaport and took these photos. They have build a new pier/esplanade right next to the old docks with the old ships. Old world view meets new world view.

Spring is Close and So is Daylight Savings Time

Spring is closer! After work there was enough daylight left so I was able to take a quick 30 minute walk. Warmer weather drew me outside! A bit breezy over by the Bull on Broadway, but warm enough for a jacket.
I walked from my place, down Wall Street, over to Batter Park, around back up Broadway, over past the Federal Reserve, over to Fulton, a quick stop by Subway for a dinner sub, then back up Fulton home.
Ah, bliss!

In Praise of Brock Peters

(Gregory Peck and Brock Peters in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD)
I regret...not saying anything to Brock Peters when I saw him and his wife in the music store across from the Beverly Center several years ago. At the time I just didn't know what to say. He was with his wife just browsing and I wanted to say something, but was afraid...timid....but watching him last night in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD his performance is raw, touching, powerful and brave. Award winning in any era! Greatly missed Mr. Peters!!

To Kill a Mockingbird

What an evening! Went to the Ziefeld Theatre on 54th and 6th to see a restored print of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD on the big screen. Part of TCM's Road Festival of movies. Each city gets a different movie. We got MOCKINGBIRD. Robert Osborne and Spike Lee introduced the film. The sound was amazing. Like a brand new film! I fell in love with it all over again!! Powerful, touching, poignant, scary, chilling, dramatic. Superb!!
This theatre is where they have all the big movie premieres in NYC! What a wonderful evening!
